Wish List to Windows Live Writer

I am satisfied with WLW. It helps me managing my multiple blogs easily. I don't have to open blog post page for every blog I write. Just open one application and write post I want to publish. Switching from one blog to another is very easy.

Last WLW version, I hoped that WLW occupied with ability to manage New Blogger label. WLW has answered that expectation in the new WLW version. But, still I have wish list:

Integration with Picasa Web Album.

Now, picture inserted to Blogger blog post is uploaded to Picasa Web Album. If I post directly from Blogger post page or Picasa, I can insert picture to my blog post. But, most of my blog post are text only exclude my photoblog because WLW has not supported me to upload picture to Picasa Web Album. WordPress.com user or ftp blog user can upload their picture because WLW has supported them.

In my view, integrating ability to upload picture to Picasa Web Album has the same logical framework with pulling Bloger's labels. It uses Blogger API. WLW programmers can do that but not me. I do not know any programming language.

Post to multiple blog.

I don't know it is possible oer not to give WLW ability to post to multiple blog only with one klik to publish button. I think it will give more power to WLW.

Giving back Spell checker and add Grammar check

Where is the spell checker? Old WLW had it but the new WLW doesn't. Please bring it back and add grammar check/suggestion. Non English writer like me need it badly.

I hope that WLW will make my wishes come true.

WLW supports Blogger's Label

I think that I am too late to know about this new improvement from Windows Live Writer. It now supports Blogger's label.

On May 31, 2007 WLW 1.0 (beta) has been released. Where was I last month? I heard no news. I read no news.

Just want to share my happines. Go WLW! Go!

Windows Live Witer: Blogger Beta Update

There was an update for WLW because WLW developer experienced difficulties to write to Blogger Beta. Oh ya? I did not face any difficulties to write to Cumplung Gumlundhung, a Blogger Beta blog of mine.

But, I think that it will be better if I download that update.

How to set Blogger Beta label on Windows Live Writer?

I have difficulties to set my blogger beta blog post label on Windows Live Writer. There is no place to put label. Does Windows Live Writer will be improved to provide this tool?

As we all has known, category dropdown list appeared at top right corner of post field if we were about posting to a wordpress blog. Blogger beta has been aded with label but I found no place to fill in my post label. Does anybody know how to put label on a posting posted with Windows Live Writer?

I did it by logging in Blogger Beta site and edited every post to add its label. I think that was not a smart enough. Perhaps html script or code have to be added to my post?

Below are two pictures comparing a wordpress posting window view to blogger beta posting window view. The properties function disappeared on blogger beta posting window.

There is properties tool provided to wordpress post on above picture. See at the bottom of that posting window.

No properties tool to set date or label. On the top right corner no label drop down list as provided to a wordpress post window.

Configuring Windows Live Writer for your beta blogger blog

I am an early adopter guy. I like to try something new, including beta blogger and Windows Live Writer (beta).

I hope that Blogger is developed to the point that WordPress can do. Now beta blogger is added by label so that blogger user can divide their posts in to some different label (category). But, this single page post enforces us to display our very long article as an uncut post. You can imagine, if we have 50.000 words of article. It will be a long article and Blogger displaying it as a single post without ability to cut some where. We can't display other post item like teasers on news website. Does Google hear this?

Now, what about Windows Live Writer? It is a baby blog tool. Yeah, a baby. But, its development is so fast. I remember that the first version I downloaded and installed to my PC was delivered without blog engine drop down listed. This 1.0 version has been facilitated with that list.

Other reason that drove me to use WLW was its spelling tool that (I think) was integrated with what MS Office had, rich and powerful. You know that I am not an English speaker nor writer. My daily language is Bahasa Indonesia. But, to spread everything worldwide, I have to use this imperialist language. LOL!

So, do you want to configure WLW to your beta blogger blog?

It is very easy. What you have to provide is your:

  1. Blog url. Example: http://glugu.blogspot.com
  2. Blog rss atom url. Example: http://glugu.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/full
  3. Beta Blogger user ID (Google Account) and password

I want to make it easy for you so that I captured some images describing the step to configure your WLW to your beta blogger blog.

WLW will pull our blog template and setting. It will make us easier to post to our blog.

I think, now is your turn to configure your Windows Live Writer to your beta blogger blog.
