Have You Sign The Petition to Close IPDN Down?

Bloggers in Indonesia took an initiative to make a petition that was addressed to The President of Republic Indonesia to close IPDN down. IPDN is an Homeland Government Institute in Indonesia, an institute to shape Senior High School graduates came from all of Indonesia regions to become high level government officer at their own province or resident.

The IPDN was successfully made itself as a famous institution because its ability to make its student a dead man, killed by the senior students. The Indonesian people still had clear memories in their head that in 2003, there was Wahyu Hidayat that found to be dead by his seniors. It shocked everybody in Indonesia early this month because Cliff Muntu, a student from North Sulawesi also killed by his seniors.

The additional facts that increased the anger of Indonesians are the Wahyu Hidayat's assassins still free out there and became government officer peacefully. The 10 killers were not put into jail liked what the Prime Justice has sentenced. Then, people are told that the body of Cliff Muntu was injected by formaline before sent to be investigated.

After many posts made by Bloggers in Indonesia, some of them initiated an online petition to close IPDN down. The petition was hosted on Petition Online. It will be sent to President Yudhoyono and IPDN Evaluation Team before the team taking final recommendation to the President.

I will not in a reluctant position to persuade you Indonesian anywhere to sign the petition. It was enough for us to give IPDN chance to repair itself. After the dead of Wahyu Hidayat, The Government of Indonesia has changed the institution name from STPDN to IPDN and changed the STPDN Head to a new IPDN Rector. But, IPDN and I Wayan S (The Rector) were both stupid and did not want to change the violence culture in the institution.

I don't agree that The Government fund their education anymore. It's enough. How IPDN graduates will serve people if they learn that the only way to face juniors is to hit or kick them? IPDN students are prepared to be government officers that have to provide public service to citizens. If they faces and conducts violence everyday, the will not provide service with the way it should be provided but they will serve us with the way their memories can remember what have been taught to them.

Go to the Petition To Close IPDN Down and sign it.

Live in dangerous country

I never imagine that this country will turn into a dangerous country. Every religion festival now has to be celebrated with fear. Fear of terror that is suspected to be committed by what so called fundamentalists from other religion. As a Moslem, I believe that there is a war in the name of God. Every moslem that involved to the war will be prized with a ticket to the heaven. But, I also believe that war has a code of conduct. In Islam, we are told not to destroy plants, animals, and religious building. Women, kids and oldmen can't be killed too. Every moslem has to obey that order. One who break that rule is not a real moslem. Bombing churches and tourists could only be done by cowards. In this Christmas night, I will let Christians celebrate Christmas in peace. You can celebrate christmas with the way you like and I will not disturb your celebration. But, I will not congratulate you because it is not aligned with my belief. What Buya Hamka has declared when he was a MUI chairman was the right fatwa I believe in. I miss an Indonesia that make police and army be with the religion celebration, not securing people who celebrate religion festivals. I miss a safe Indonesia. A peaceful Indonesia.

War against corruption, the evil get stronger

Unlike success stories China made in cleaning its government from corruption, the war against corruption in Indonesia is still far from what have been intended. On several occasions, The President of Republic Indonesia mentioned that threads to block every efforts to eradicate corruption were getting stronger. The rats in Indonesia government and their crony did not allow their community to be destroyed by the law. I think, the situation represents that the reformation will come to an end with the reformist as the loss party. What a pity!

What made me surprised was the Vice President statement saying that the war against corruption should not hamper the economic growth. I disagreed with Vice President because he said wrong statement, what Burhanudin Abdullah said was the right one, "Fighting corruption should help the economy and growth, instead of hampering them." In fact, "corruption also corrode the economic and political system", and, we have sick to be shown by all proof of this statement.

We have to learn from Bangladesh. British Minister of State for Trade Ian McCartney MP found corruption as the biggest single barrier to greater investment in Bangladesh and observed that elimination of this vice could boost economic growth up to 8 percent.

I think that every one here in Indonesia, that is not mentally deteriorated, will see that what Mr. Ian McCartney found in Bangladesh can be treated universally. FDI commitment to Indonesia is always reported in hugh numbers but the realization spoke oppositely. The main reason is no law assurance in Indonesia. I see one thing that give the biggest cause to the absence of law assurance in Indonesia is the corruptive government. We can see that the drama still on stage now, corruptors show their power by  whispering a message to Vice President to be stated broadly.

The power of evil is getting stronger and the reformists will face their end; surrender and sit on their knees to the corruptors. Mr. President have promised that he will fight corruption right from his own house. But, the drama broadcasted to us is that his servant, Mr. Vice President, thought in other way. "You have to manage your servant, Mr. President!"

To cut the corruptive bureaucracy in Indonesia, we have to take revolutionary action:

  1. Early retiring the over 40 years old government officer,
  2. Reorganize and Rationalize the rest under 40 years old officers,
  3. Only take qualified persons with high quality of knowledge, managerial skills, and have service mindset.

To continue the war against corruption, KPK have to be supported totally. Government bodies, government officers or other party that stand to break every efforts to eradicate corruption have to be announced as the enemy of state or enemy of nation.

Do you believe that I have only one time visited Bali?

Bali is a province, part of my country Indonesia. but, I have only one time gone to that beautiful island. I can't afford my trip to Bali. What a pity.

The only occasion I could go to Bali when my company sent me to the Cisco 2005 Kick Of Meeting. And, frankly speaking I have no much time to enjoy Bali. I stayed in Bali for 2 days and every day was loaded with presentation from Cisco. Fortunately, my boss got us went out at night. We went to Jimbaran, to a beach restaurant where we could eate our meals with the wave sound whistleing at our ears. Ngurah Rai airport was also seen so that we saw the flight activities clearly. Planes landed and took off.

I want to go back to Bali someday. I will get my family to visit that beautiful place. Perhaps I have to save some money first. But, I think my family is deserved to visit Bali. Besides, I have a friend whos profession is a tour guide. He run a tour guiding services. I think that you are welcome to contact him if you plan to visit Bali someday.
