Blogger Layout Tool Looses Its Scrolling Bar

I manage some Blogger blogs including this one. I still use Blogger because Blogger that introduced me to blogging world in 2001. Of course, I have other blog that supported by other blog engine.

I ever wrote whist lists to Blogger because I see many bloggers were moving to WordPress.Com. What make them moving was WordPress.Com easy commenting system. In a wordpress blog, comment form directly appears below its corresponding post. It makes blog visitors are given simple and easy way to post their comments. In Blogger, we face the opposite situation. To leave a comment, we have to click a "leave a comment" or "post a comment" link. Imagine that we have to follow two steps only to post a comment.

First, from a blog homepage, we have to click comment link or click the post title to show visitors comment. This is OK because other blog engines have the same way. But, we have to do second step, that is click "post a comment" link to post our comments. Comment form does not appear directly below post (if there is no comment) or below comments (if there are comments posted by earlier visitors).

Comment form under post is badly needed. I expect that Blogger in draft will prioritize to provide that functionality before other tools. Jacky Supit has asked about that again on his post about new Blogger facility that Blogger in draft is still working on -- scheduled post.

OK, now let us talk about Blogger layout tool.

I went to one of my blog's dashboard and then opened Layout (Template > Page Elements). Usually, I found a scrolling bar on the very bottom of my blog template layout. But, since last night I did not find it. I thought that the error was on my template. But, just now, I faced that problem again. No scrolling bar so that I had to drag page elements on the very right side to other side if I wanted to edit that page elements.

Do you Blogger users experience the same problem with me? How to solve that problem? What code I have to add to my template code to reappear the scroll bar?

WordPress Style Comment Blogger Template

Blogger is a blog platform that uses atom. That leads Blogger blog to have two steps commenting system. Fist step, to show comment form reader has to click a "leave a comment" link. Secondly, readers has to click publish after writing their comments.

Comparing two its competitor -- WordPress -- Bloggers commenting system is not interesting. Visitors are lazy to post a comment because they have to click and click again. It is different with wordpress powered blog. In a wordpress blog comment form is straightly appear under blog posts and posted comments. Visitors of that kind of blog are given appropriate tool to leave their comment. Then they leave a comment happily to that blog.

Blogger powered blog users have to worry not again. Jackbook.com has hacked blogger comment to make your blog visitors are helped to leave comment. He made a comment form appears under blog post. I found that it was so fascinating. I have implement that hack to this blogger powered blog. To help blogger users applying that hack I have published a blog that provide ready to use wordpress-style-comment-template to visitors. I call it Free Blogger Template | WordPress Style Comment Template. Visitors free to download and use offered template.

Then, why still do you use old fashioned Blogger template?

Applying NEO Template

Hi!

Nice to meet you again. I know that I have been forgetting this blog for such along time. Little busy doing another thing. Now, I am back to write everything I like.

On this very first chance, I will notice you that I applied NEO template to this blog. NEO template was created by Ramani and have been modified in another base template by some bloggers. This is the second time for me in applying NEO. First, I implemented NEO to POKOKE Community Blog. It was applied originally without modification. To this blog, I modified some areas. Firstly, I moved main content to the left and side bar and news side bar to the right. Secondly, I added a crosscol between header and content wrapper. It was intended to place Google link unit ad. Over all, you can see it yourself.

I am trying to change another blog template to NEO with other modification. I have no knowledge about coding. So far I made some modification by trial and error. But, it worked.

I hope that I will get to you soon to write another story.
